"There are Few Thing More Beautiful"

You were the northern lights inside of a southern sky. How was I so blessed as to view a sight few will ever bare witness too. But we were just a stitch in the infinity of time that unravels too quickly. It’s not that the thread wasn’t strong, it was plenty strong, the universe was just too old to bare us. So I’ve been placing Yage seeds inside of balloons and letting them go, in hopes that one day when everything falls apart and the universe comes to tear in two like an old and sacred sash, the seeds will bury themselves inside the bodies of new planets and through the collective the universe will remember herself, as she was before we first met.

Until then, I will be drawing out road maps by sewing spider’s silk into my skin, so that one day I might find my way back, and experience what remains of our little thread, lost in the tattered fabric of time.

Yage, or otherwise known as Ayahuasca, is a brew made from the Banisteriopsis Caapi vine found throughout the Southern American continent, especially within the jungles of Peru, which is where I had my first encounter with the vine. It is one of the main ingredients in producing the hallucinogenic effects of Ayahuasca. It is also credited for igniting consciousness and deepening the spiritual journey.

The manipulation in this photo was inspired by the micro-prism focal meter found on older film cameras. The original photo was taken in Southern Colorado on a Sony a7Rii using a Sony 24-70 4 lense.
