You didn't see but I was there, drifting across the distance. So much space between but a razor couldn't slide, tied together yet tired of all that was in unsaid. Bowing head I depart the room wondering if I'll ever return.
What is the point of the bonds of promise if they are unable to hold back the flood that consumes all in its path. None can outrun nor outlast the destruction it will enact.
Broken shards of the home that once housed a hundred hearts, a thousand lines and a million goodbyes while they all depart. Dropping the hand before it can knock, interrupted before it can interrupt, only to walk away a beggar, homeless but wanting a new start.
Floating through an invisible world where the cloak was on all else. All you could see in every surface was a reflection of your self, lovely and terrible the sight, all looked and liked but none could care. To finish what was begun would take more strength than I can have, even if I could spare.
I offered my hand and became the shoulder a support that one needs, but helpless and incapable of doing it for my own. All in on the table filled with no chance of a return, saving all but with none to return the save and when the rise of need call, no echo hollers back.
