Hi everyone,
So this is a short poem that tries to paint a picture and seek to express the perspective of the regular/ordinary citizen in my country about "our friends" the police.
The police, entrusted with the safety and well being of ordinary citizens have however turned on them, intimidating the weak and trampling under feet anyone who dared to raise a brow..
With their automatic riffles they fight for no man but themselves.

"The police is your friend & bail is free" they say,
But we know better
Your propaganda only exist on papers and TV
You are law enforcers but live above the law
Power drives us all, we're only human after all
In 9ja, all you need is a pot belly and "fat" bank account
Enough to buy us FUEL and STOUT
And like a tombo fly we will follow you
Saying "yes sir! " to your evil menu
I've never witnessed such misuse of power
Say a word, I dare you!
And get a dozen slap per syllable you utter
Human right violators we are

In 9ja every other person is a criminal these days
"Arrest him first! When we reach station em go know "
No law exist against tatoos and body piercings
But we enjoy beating, striping and disdaining innocent people.
