I wrote this poem back when I was still waiting for a confirmation to start on Steemit. There was a poem challege with the theme of oceans. Sad to say, I did not make the cut. Still, I want to post it.
Aquatic Life

Underneath the crashing waves,
Underneath the glaring sun,
Underneath the sparkling surface,
Lies the destruction that awaits the ocean.
The coral reefs that slowly break,
The slow slithering of the water snake,
The fishes swimming aimlessly,
The dolphins playing with their family.
Every living thing there is,
Slowly dying in despair,
The cruelty of human race,
Will drive the ocean beyond repair.
The sunken ships containing toxic waste,
The garbage that we threw in haste.
We always knew we’re causing harm,
But no one bothered, not even some.
The red tide pollutes your delicious clam,
Yet no one cared and they just scrammed.
Now don’t you ever complain to me,
‘Cause we’re the reason of this tragedy.
