The TalkingPoint Team is extremely excited to announce our new Political Tribe. With the US Elections up and coming and many mainstream sites suppressing some points of view we have created the TalkingPoint Tribe. It is a still a very young project, but it has the potential to onboard many who love to discuss Politics and need a place to ensure their point will be captured regardless of whether or not it is rewarded.
It is our goal to market and onboard users outside of the Steem Community. If you are reading this post you have early access, some of our first tasks will be to polish up the tribe for external promotion. A logo contest and more refined moderation guidelines will be adopted. For now consider it an experiment.
As we know political conversation get more intense during election season and have a way of breaking out even in discords and slack, why not provide a place for these discussions?
The site is located at talkingpoint.co, the token is POINT, we will moderate the POINT tag for unrelated content and downvote (remove) POINT tokens only.
I would like to say there will be no downvoting for opinion, but stakeholders will do what stakeholders will do! The moderators will not downvote for intelligently stated opinions.

A few things about this tribe:
- Three day payout windows
- Rewards are 100% staked
- 1 week powerdowns
- 50/50 curation/author rewards
- Airdrops were sent staked
- There is a sell wall on steem-engine.com
- All rewards are content based, no miners, no vesting inflation
Rules:
- No Links, Links may be used as a source, but “link only” posts will be downvoted
- No threats, any threats of personal violence will result in immediate muting
Moderation Policy:
- Content harmful to the community or not relevant will be downvoted
- Downvotes will remove POINT rewarded and not STEEM
- Moderation will be focused on rewarding intelligent debate which we acknowledge is subjective
- A strong focus of rewarding intelligent comments and debate

This will be interesting experiment with human behavior if it gains some traction.
Will the majority of stakeholders be more interested in increasing their holdings by supporting their opponents, or will they attempt to squash their opponents voices with downvotes and blacklists?
It is rare that I find opinion authors here who are not constantly assailed with adversity and downvotes.

I like the idea. I wanted to do this when tribes came out but I was hesitant about how downvoting would effect the strength of the token. I'm happy to participate and best of luck!!
Love idea of 3 day payout and staked tokens etc. Awesome job. Really thrilled about this one... there's a total need for it, NOT just coz of US elections but because politics are everywhere. Hoping I have some POINT.. off to check, and if not, I best get my indignant political passion out (I do tend to keep that beast chained up). Xx

The downvoting thing will be interesting. People can get pretty polarised.
Sounds like a good idea. Let's hope that, despite differing views, participants engage in sprited discourse and maintain a degree of decorum and civility.

wait, why there's some rules? Are you having a contest? Well, since the world is tamed with politics it's a good idea to come up a tribe for about politics.
Doesn't news and current events make it a rather big umbrella. I could write about Formula 1 and still be current. Is that fine? Or only politics? Also, only US politics? Because I am not from US.
