Hi there. In this short Pokemon trading card game post I cover the ACE SPEC card Pokevital A. This card is a reveal on May 15, 2024 for the Night Wanderer set in Japan. This set is to be released on June 7th. For the English version this card would be a part of the August set.

Pokevital A ACE SPEC Item Card

Damage healing effects are considered pretty strong. In the past there was the supporter card Cheryl which healed all damage from every Evolution Pokemon with the drawback of discarding Energy. In the current F, G, H regulation block format the only powerful healing Supporter card I can think of is [Saguaro](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Saguaro_(Paldea_Evolved_187). [Saguaro](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Saguaro_(Paldea_Evolved_187) heals 50 damage each for up to two of your Pokemon. It is not widely used as there are more useful supporter cards to use once per turn.

This Pokevital A ACE SPEC Item card has a pretty powerful healing effect. With no drawback you can heal 150 damage from one of your Pokemon. It is like Hyper Potion in the video game. Like with any ACE SPEC card you can only have one per deck.

Pokevital A would be good in decks that have large HP attackers that usually take two big hits for a knockout. Use Pokevital A would heal that damage and can potentially deny prizes for the opponent in the next turn. Some decks may want to use Scoop Up Cyclone instead of this as Scoop Up Cyclone picks up the Pokemon and all attached cards with it. It is uncertain how this card plays out in practice and if this would replace powerful offensive ACE SPEC cards like Prime Catcher, Maximum Belt and Unfair Stamp.

Pros

  • Powerful healing effect.
  • Searchable by supporters like Arven and Irida.
  • Make it hard for opponent to knockout your large HP Pokemon

Cons

  • Cannot retrieve card from discard pile into hand or deck.
  • Watch out for the Eri Supporter that discards Item cards.
  • Not great in decks with low HP.
