That math gets heady real quick. Do players do these calculations in their heads at the table, even in the more complicated situations.

I can see how it applies to one-before-cutoff scenarios like your example, but in a nine person final table scenario, that is so much info to parse.

It's reasonable to estimate stuff, but very hard to calculate this in your head. Basically it just means you should be aware of the payout structure, maybe run some simulations if you have an extended break, but mostly just be aware that you should call tighter in a bunch of spots.
