You always have to have a reason for overbetting and you also have to be balanced when you do it, meaning that you can't only over bet when you have the nuts or only when you're bluffing. You should mix in some bluffs for example 20% of times, and have 80% the nuts when you do it, this way opponents won't be able to exploit you.
