It's working as intended. You're supposed to type the passphrase into that field, not copy and paste. This is to ensure you followed the previous instruction of writing it down.
Thanks for reporting it as a user-experience problem, I see the confusion it creates and will take a mental note to add a warning when a user pastes.

So pasting actually works on desktop, because of it being a keypress. On mobile it isn't (which was the original design). After reconsidering it for a minute I decided that it's probably too much of the nannying, and will change it to allow for pasting on mobile too.
