"Libertarianism" is one way to formulate the discussion about liberty.

The method is notably confrontational and extremely dogmatic. I've noticed, through my life time, that the term shuts down conversations. I live in Utah which is an extremely oppressive state. In Utah, both conservatives and progressives shut down the debate when the word "libertarian" is spoken.

Much of the discourse about libertarianism centers on the conflict between individualism and the communitarianism. This debate makes it appear that Libertarians are driven by a desire for conflict.

I believe that there is a better way to present liberty.

I like the term "classical liberal."

I define classical liberal as the application of classical logic to the question of liberty. The classical liberal tradition is a conversation about the nature of man and governance that has been going on since antiquity.

This term allows for a more broad based discussion about liberty that has the potential to draw in the masses.

I've been working on this question for about 30 years. My parents, who campaigned for Goldwater, have been working on this problem for longer.

By using the historic technique one can not only show that liberty can solve problems. Using the historical technique, it is possible to show just how the left/right split was devised as a method to destroy liberty.

I will write a steemit post about my definition.

Just call yourself a constitutionalist instead. Most people can respect that.

I tried "constitutionalism" but it does not work. The Constitution itself is simply the articles of incorporation for the US Government. While the Constitution created a limited government, the Constitutional Convention was not meant to create the framework for society.

I actually made a very serious attempt to use "Conservatism." Every attempt to use the word "conservative" blew up in my face.

For example constitutionalism would answer the question of how we should organize the local school system because the topic is out of the scope of the Constitution.

BTW: I just finished my longer article about the definition of Classical Liberalism

Kokesh's post was specifically about science. (I really hope he is reading this reply)

The reason I brought up Classical Liberalism on this thread is because real science is part of the Classical Liberal Tradition. This is both easy to prove and is still widely known in the scientific community.

Science and technology do not make Libertarianism irrelevant. If people discussed classical liberalism; they would discover that technological developments have made the issue of liberty even more critical today than before.

Unfortunately, Libertarianism and Conservatism have adopted forms of modern logic which are counter to science. If the Libertarian Party rediscovered classical liberalism, the party would not only make itself relevant to today's technological culture, we might get to the place where Libertarian candidates start winning races.

The definition that I use for classical liberalism is actually a nice starting place for a discussion of logic. This definition can lead directly into the development of science.

Mormonism was created in the same decade that King William IV launched the conservative movement.

Mormon Conservatism is in many ways closer to the original vision that Sir Robert Peel had when he created the Conservative Party than any of the other Conservative movements in the U.S.

I wish I could be this optimistic about things, but in my country (Australia) all I see is a lack of freedom and constant attacks on what little freedom we do have. Libertarianism is still very much needed in the world as a whole.

It's a little bit complicated Mr @Adamkokesh. Had a similar conversation with someone on this platform today and I think while the core libertarian values are still solid, perhaps the best messangers have not carried the message.
We've been riddled with inconsistency, hypocrisy and arrogance from some influential libertarians that people simply stopped listening.

There is nothing wrong with the principles of Libertarianism but with some self confessed libertarians.

This is why blockchain social platforms may be such a fortunate find for the libertarian cause

The libertarian movement grew in size and influence and, well, there seemed to be less and less in common with conservatives who were fixated on foreign policy adventurism abroad and culture-war issues at homeIand the post-Cold War world, conservatives started turning against free trade and immigration as well, turning to instead toward “National Greatness” as articulated in the pages of The Weekly Standard and nativism as pronounced without pause during the 1990s and 2000s at National Review

The conservative movement has always been problematic for the GOP. The problem is that the underlying ideology of the conservatism was formulated by the Conservative Party of Great Britain. The Conservative Party of Great Britain was actually designed to conserve the social structure of the monarchy.

What I have seen happen throughout my lifetime is that the Conservative Party consistently undermines the conversation about liberty.

The only way that libertarianism can be relevant is if there is a massive passionate following from the youth. Generally speaking, it is the youth that drives certain movements, trends and in some cases, even revolutions.

That's true but with each generation comes a counter culture generation and polls are showing that counter culture going back to conservatism. I will find a article on it later and post a link for you.

Two Great Examples. With Driving being about 40% of employment currently, it would change the way our society looks at the labor force and focus. And Bitcoin does not only open banking operations. Using Blockchain for voting, transparent news, and the list boggles the mind.

Has been widely known that since the first human technologies already exist or are already using the technology. Maunsia use technology because it has sense. With reason, people want to get out of trouble, want to live better, safer and so on. Technological developments occur due to the use of reason to resolve any problems encountered and I as libertian use after thought ripe for freedom.

Thanks My president @adamkokesh

What will happen is what happens with all decline in revenue...they will just ask the voters for more tax money and they will give it to them. During the last decline they let our roads go so bad people had no choice but to increase the taxes....then they did the same thing with our parks, they refused to mow the grass but once every two weeks and took other amenities away which ultimately lead them to ask the voters to increase taxes...which they did. Same will happen with any decline in traffic fines, they'll let people sit for hours waiting for cops until they give them what they want.

As far as Bitcoin or cypto is concerned we just have to look at this site as an example that it's no better than the system we currently have in place. It's even worse if you consider the number of spammers and scammers taking off with hundred of thousands of dollars each and every day....this would have came to a halt a long, long time ago in the real world of things.

Even if the Libertarian party has issues, even if the libertarian message gets muddled, Libertarianism itself will never be irrelevant. The heavier the weight becomes, the more relevant libertarianism becomes. @ironshield

I don't personally care for any "ism" but of course libertarianism is irrelevant.

Science and technology are now strongly shooting forward, and social practices are remaining behind them. All this violates the techno-humanitarian balance; this social system will collapse as a result.
