In my country the professional class is focusing on private job market. Thus as politicians those that aren't competitive or didn't find a place are ending up. That might explain the quality and morality of the political class.

Wow, I would think the gifted or the most educationally qualified citizens would be politicians, but just like in your country, it's also the same in my country.
