RE: You're Not Supposed to Notice This About Covid

in #politics3 years ago

Ever since the pandemic began, I've been exercising mainly at home. While Singaporeans can exercise outdoors too, you still have to take your mask with you.

Medical staff should wear all the PPE they can afford, since they will be operating in close proximity with people known or suspected to have the virus. They can't avoid the virus, so they have to mitigate its impact. But for regular people who don't have Covid, it seems we are much better off simply staying far away from others and getting lots of sunlight, fresh air, and exercise.

Sort:

I can understand and empathize with the feeling of freedom or a certain sense of prior normalcy being taken away. If you think from another perspective, you'll comprehend the reason people like me choose to play along (comply/cooperate) with their game. There is no concrete evidence to support that in the event of a pandemic, the numbers are better without masks than with masks. We simply refuse to be blamed for hogging the few ventilators that are already in short supply.

There is already plenty of evidence that masks are useless, and even counterproductive, in the current pandemic. Start with the case numbers of states and countries without mask mandates versus those that do. See the links I provided in the main article.

Likewise, ventilators aren't necessarily effective at treating Covid. Notice the quiet shift from ventilators to oxygen tanks in the medical news.

The principle at hand isn't about being blamed for hogging ventilators or other medical resources.

It's about governments all over the world using the pandemic as an excuse to expand their powers, and conditioning their citizens to become obedient subjects.

Against this, being blamed is nothing.

Is there a study to prove everyone is obedient? There is a difference between obedience and passive-aggressive.
