There is no question in my mind that Donald Trump suffers from the Antisocial Personality Disorder known as sociopathy. He has a mental illness that is difficult to treat. Interestingly, I've read in many sources that sociopaths tend to have a high degree of success in business because they have no concern whatsoever for their victims.
Sociopaths tend to have disregard for the feelings and concerns of others. They lack empathy. This is incredibly evident in Trumps treatment of hurricane victims in Puerto Rico, his willingness to sexually harass women (grab 'em by the pussy), and his blatant lack of concern for all of the people who will lose medical coverage under his "health care reform" efforts.
The Diagnostics and Statistics Manaul (DSM-V) describes sociopaths as arrogant, callous, aggressive and hostile. We don't need to dig very deeply to see these behaviors being manifested in Trumps treatment of North Korea. Further, sociopaths tend to be irresponsible and recklessly place themselves and others in danger--another astonishing parallel between Trump and sociopathology when we consider how "dangerous" nuclear war can be--yet he irresponsibly plays with it like a cat toy.
Personal relationships of sociopaths are cannon fodder as, they are manipulatively leveraged solely for personal gain. An astonishing number of Trump's cabinet members are no longer in place after what, 266 days? Admittedly it can be stated that a new leader will make changes, but how many of these people were actually Trump-selected? When those people no longer serve his personal agenda, out they go like used tissue.
The link between Donald Trump and sociopathic tendencies seems unending. This article points out characteristics commonly found in sociopathic individuals. We would have to be blind to not notice the hostility linkage with Trump. Recall his bizarre attack on a female news anchor with the "bleeding from" comment, the mocking of a disabled person on national TV, and his Twitler Storm behaviors any time someone disagrees with him. It seems as though his sole agenda in his (poorly-performed) new job is to undo every accomplishment of his predecessor. Perhaps there exists some deep-rooted racism that makes him hostile toward a well-liked and highly-effective black man. Perhaps we will never know. I, for one, will certainly never forget his behavior toward Angela Merkel in the "I Won't Shake Your Hand" incident. The man drips with hostility.
Lastly, the lying. Sociopaths tend to be deceitful. Here's a list of Trump's lies just up to June. The article states that he told a "public lie or falsehood every single day for the first 40 days" in his new job. Jesus. While certainly sick, it is absolutely fascinating to watch Trump deny truth under the guise of "fake news". This new lexicon appears to normalize the outright denial of factual information, to the extent that I want to buy a new saddle for my dinosaur.
In college we were taught that the presence of one personality disorder is generally co-morbid with another. Anyone noticing the narcissism?
This is such a short list exemplifying the bizarre, erratic and sociopathic behaviors of Donald Trump. I'm a stunned to learn that the Steemit platform contains a significant Trump constituency, as you describe @drdave. Why? I admit, I've been around for a few presidencies, and if you asked me up until now I'd say that Bush was by far the worst of the batch (actually, it was Dick Cheney). At least Bush was funny. Trump needs counseling.
@crystalize I actually agree with everything you mention, less one thing - IMHO the constant barrage points to psychopathy rather than sociopathy... (JK - I'm not a doctor but I play one on TV - just to show my age a little bit also) So much so that many psychiatrists, and psychologists are disregarding the Goldwater rule and speaking out...

Thank you for the comment - and your input... I wish more people on both sides would engage more in the conversation - I may not be the most enlightened (or smartest) person in the room but "spreading the truth", or my perception of it, is at least something ...
Hi @drdave. I'm not sure what is happening here, but my original response to your comment appears "greyed out" in my comments list. Does this mean that I have been flagged or downvoted simply for expressing my opinion in a censorship-free social media platform? If so, this creates the chilling effect that will likely impact peoples interest in having any form of discourse that deviates from popular opinion.
Hi @crystalize ... Im not sure what you're seeing on your end - I have your original reply as the first one on my end. (beginning with "There is no question...") It doesn't look like you were flagged or down voted - maybe you just minimized it on the page... IDK.?.?.? Try clicking on the +/- on the right of the comment to see if it comes back to normal...
Please let me know what happens with that... I am a little bummed that I'm only able to give you (.07 / 100% upvote) IMHO that comment is worth SOOOO much more - as are all of the comments on this post!!! I wish I could do more... The interactions I have gotten from this post are the best yet here on Steemit - and I want to continue to elicit responses from people regardless of their political direction or if they agree or disagree.
As a side note: since posting this series on Trump, I have been un-followed and muted more than the whole rest of my time on the platform... In typical fashion people will flee from anything contradictory to their world view... To use a quote directly from the orange buffoon "SAD"...!!! I must be doing something right...
I am however working on something BIG for November that's going to give my/our perspective a little more "influence"... It amazes me that a place designed around truth inherent to it's basic principals (the mighty blockchain), is filled with so much blatantly false information - and no one is out there calling it out... That's an objective fact, not just my opinion - choose one or two posts out of the politics tag and do a genuine "unbiased fact check"... See for yourself where Steemit's biases are (politically speaking)
Thanks again for your input (sorry for the rant)... I look forward to seeing you in the comments of my next post... MDG...
Hi @drdave. Yeah, I checked three of my posts and saw they were greyed out but did not see any downvotes, so I have no idea what caused it. I'm fairly new here to Steemit, so still trying to figure it all out.
