So far after almost a year in office (266 days, 9 hours, 48 minutes to be exact) it has been pure chaos.
I am wondering if the country works worse, better or the same way as before Trumps chaos reign. You are writing:
Many of the actions already taken have been done in such a way that it may already have become very difficult (if not impossible) for our society to reverse or recover from them.
Has this been started under him or is he just riding this trend because of forces that he cannot control?
My impression is that Trump is not the person who does something. He lets things been done by others and only makes sure that the incentive/punishment structure is optimal for those in charge.
drawing analogies between Trump's rise to power and what happened to Germany in the nineteen thirties.
Trump is well beyond 60. Hitler was in his 40s when he took over and I don't remember any (crazy) dictator who was not young when developing the lust for power. Gaddafi, Mao, Stalin, Amin - they all were in their prime when taking over. Trump was basically on his way out of the professional word. Therefore I doubt that you can characterize him in this fashion.
If anything, I'd say Jared and Ivanka have it. But strangely, they are being left alone by the media and are described as the sane ones. (I wonder why..)
Trump is definitely unique in so many ways - none of them good, and none of them are beneficial to the country as a whole... If anything we will probably soon discover that the only one who is benefiting from the Trump regime, is Trump... (And the corporate interests who are keeping him in power...) There should be no doubt in any thinking persons mind, that there's a large number of members in both congressional bodies who have a personal financial interest in keeping this insanity going as long as possible...
Try to picture just five(5) of the totally off the wall things Trump has done, then imagine the reaction from any given senator or congressman had Barack Obama done the same thing... We would have had the fortune to watch impeachment hearings months ago, instead the leadership continues to ignore things that are not only morally wrong, but criminal, and I would go as far as even treasonous...
Every day there's another reason to remove this lunatic from office, and every day our selected "officials" ignore "everything"... Why??? In the end I think most if not all of the senate and house leadership will be determined complicit, and hopefully pay more than just a political price for their actions - more accurately stated, their inactions... Thanks for the comments... I look forward to seeing you in my next post... MDG...
