Evil in the 21st Century. Part 1.5: Terrorism continued.

in #politics5 years ago

The 21st century isn't even a full fifth of the way done, but already it has had its share of tragedies both natural and artificial. From 9/11 to the 7/7 bombings and beyond, so-called "terrorism" has been the "Red Scare" of our current era. But terrorism has a far different definition than most people realize. Most commonly, currently, defined as the "unlawful use of violence or the threat of violence to meet political ends."

In part 1 I talked on the definition of terrorism and how it represents typical doublespeak used by those in power to remain in power. I also discussed modern terrorisms rise and its general existence today, but only surface level. What I would like to do now is take a look at those who terrorism truly affects, those being the very people that western media portrays as the terrorists.

Yes indeed, I said it. The ones most often portrayed as terrorists and in truth the ones most "terrorized." From the American puppet Saddam Hussein to the Al-Qaeda that control Iraq in his absence, to what was once the closest thing to a secular country in the region, now a war torn nation of muslims, christians, and jews fighting off foreign invaders in what the US calls a "Civil War." I speak of course of Syria, which even now continues to fight off US backed ISIS forces.

Most people just want to live their lives in relative peace, but no matter where you go you will find murderers, gangbangers, mobsters, and the career military man. Of course many say the military man is just defending his people, country, freedom, or whatever flavor of the month it is. But as many can attest gangs claim the same thing, and some gangs even do have some level of benefit to the community they are a part of. In fact some gangs are known for keeping drug dealers away from kids, random crime down, and organized non-violent (or less violent) crime as their focus.

Why am I talking about gangs in a post about terrorism? To make the following point, violent people are everywhere. The thing in the west is that these people are supported only by the money they can make and launder, whereas in other parts of the world these people are supported by entire countries. The United States while doing its best to deny the allegations, is a well known supporter and exporter of terrorism around the world.

They do this by claiming to give weapons and other support to "moderates." Moderate rebels of course, which do not exist.

But lies of moderation aside, the point is that thanks to the political aims of a few thousand old rich people primarily in the US, UK, and The Saud, trillions of dollars are being spent to fund, arm, and train the worst a society has to offer, then to fight a war against them when they inevitably use their new weapons to kill people, then to brutally occupy the country for a decade and a half. All of which results in a constant state of terror for those in the afflicted areas.

When you fall victim to the fear mongering, when you support an endless "War on (read of) Terror," and when you refuse to take a stand against your own leaders you cause this to be the way of life for tens of millions of innocents.

You have more in common with the common people of the world than you do with your own leaders.
