Honest question. Not to say their opinions are right or wrong but having spent tons of time on Reddit it has some pretty blatant political leanings. In terms of US and international politics are there any trends running on Steemit to be aware of? Does the site tend to favor left or right wing, a particular nation or nations, etc? And does it take off to the degree it did there where monkeying with the rules and stats was done to devalue certain subreddits? Or is this truly unmoderated beyond user voting?
Just wondering what to expect.

Just wondering how open the conversation is honestly. Reddit allowed some shady things. People get blanket banned for participating in subreddits on specific subject matter. Didn't matter if you were arguing with them or agreeing, or somewhere more neutral. Insta-ban. So if you posted on a right wing subreddit you could get auto banned from a female focused one. That kind of thing.
There was a lot of vote brigading based on political opinions. Which is somewhat expected but it happened to an extent bots had to be involved and nothing was done.
And there was some evidence of numbers being monkeyed with by reddit staff and harassment against some opinions being acceptable but others not.
Since this social network is run on something called a blockchain it's impossible to be fully censored. The worst that can happen is your post being hidden, but you can unhide posts like that.
The site doesn't give a fu.. - ok a vote :) to left or right. The site loves freedom and creativity. It does not like marking. Read, write, vote, be yourself. That's it. Quite simple :)

My account just got approved but over the past few days of lurking I would definitely say that Steemit is more left wing, but everything is pretty balanced around here.
