Seeing that I had a laugh and thought I would find some funny political satire and maybe something insightful. I thought they meant Davos Man had no plan to stop his own political extremism.

The title seems to have changed to "Populism Keeps Rattling the Globe. Elites Have No Idea What to Do." and continues on to lament that our self-appointed corporate masters are inept at politics. That might actually be a good thing when you think about it, no? Not to mention the irony of the pot calling the kettle black in terms of political extremism.

After six years of living abroad as a dirty immigrant, politics is one of the things that I miss the least. I find it so odd how political everyone from the US has become and I really wish everyone would come to come together. Just after the Civil War most of the workers in New Orleans, both black and white, came together demanding a safer work environment and better wages.
The elites weren't too happy about this, so they began printing sensational stories in the newspaper, involving violent acts by both races in order to make everyone feel victimized to put an end to the solidarity amongst workers, but it didn't work.
The workers could see through all their tactics and together they began striking until they were ultimately victorious in their efforts, but while the workers were celebrating, the elites began enacting the Jim Crow laws so they would never have to deal with an united workforce again.
I feel like all of this is happening again, but we are still in the sensational newspaper stage, which seems like it's working a little too well, which makes me wonder if most of these political people are just bots arguing with each other.
My mom visited over Christmas and with her job and lifestyle, she's cut off from most media to the point were most social references are lost on her, but somehow they had even got to here. So she showed up with all these strong opinions and conspiracy theories about a bunch of old, crusty white and orange guys that we'll never meet and I think they had her so wound up that there was no way I was going to disagree with anything she had to say, that could have ruined Christmas.
Anyways, it's good to see you posting again, after that two year hiatus.

The rich seem to have their own exclusive clubs, but they are just people in the end. I'd hope some of them give a shit about the rest of us. There are actually some millionaires who want to pay more tax! I know some here don't like taxes, but that system ain't going to change any time soon. I think the rich can afford to pay more and still live extremely well. They have been hoarding wealth.
In terms of taxes, the ones collected on everyone's income, property, and sales or "value-added" tax (now there's an Orwellian term) in our countries are plenty enough.
Just think of how much of people's money is gobbled up by taxes in commerce. Everything is skimmed off in large amounts for just about every transaction and the the people participating in the economy are left with little to show for it.
In my own opinion, more should be done to reduce the many tasks modern governments think they need to or should do, because in the end they tend to unnecessarily reduce the decisions and potential available to citizens. With less to spend, this would naturally happen.
