If you believe that NK is a global threat, and as I stated there is no world in which NK attacks Germany they you believe the US is de facto the world.
Also 95% of Germans are against preventive wars. Our Chancellor Schröder won an election soly based on his promise that he wouldn't join in the Iraq offensive.
Preventive wars are illegal, no matter how threatened you feel. If China will light up the American continent, because you cant stop starting wars all around the world, I doubt Europe will come to your aide.
We are at a moot point then, it seems. If you truly believe a nuclear war would stay localized, I will let you stay in that mindset and hope that a situation will never come about that proves either of us wrong.
