There is a supposed desire for “equality of opportunity,” a neutral marketplace that is not biased against race or sex, where success is purely merit-based. Theoretically, all people want this, from the left and right. Except, to achieve this, the left says they must use affirmative action and DEI to level the playing field for those groups that they claim were unfairly discriminated against in the past. They claim that there never was a level playing field before, so to create one now we temporarily need a tilted field that benefits women, LGBT, and people of color—everyone except the straight white males that dominated society in the past. And temporary means indefinite means forever.
But in reality, the playing field was level in the past. It had to be. Hundreds of years ago, when survival itself was so difficult, we couldn't afford to artificially make things more difficult by worrying about race and gender equality. Nature is ruled by survival of the fittest, and in the past, humans lived at the behest of nature to a much greater extent than we do now. What was the result? White men came out on top and built Western civilization, America, and all its great institutions. We were the fittest. We didn't rise to the top because of racism and sexism excluding other groups. We were simply better than those other groups.
That is why when organizations attempt to create true neutral playing fields, they end up dominated by white men. Libs think it must be related to past discrimination, so they must use affirmative action and DEI to correct this. But no. White men are simply better. By excluding them, you are only making things worse.
If you want society as a whole to succeed, you need to let the most competent people back into positions of power. White men running things will make life better for women and people of color. White men conquered nature through developing technology, providing benefits for women and POC. Brown people are escaping their countries that have been ruined by brown leaders. They come here to be ruled by competent white men.
Foreign POC may not know or say this consciously, but they see this great American system that was built by white men, and they want to be a part of it because it is clearly better than their systems run by POC. But with less and less white men running the system, it is deteriorating and will continue to do so over time—unless the white men are allowed to run things again. When the best people are at the top of the hierarchy, it makes life better for everyone else below them.
