It's funny how whenever the right doesn't win, or doesn't win as big as they want, people start talking about seceding. There is no way anyone will be seceding. Wether it's counties from states or states from the country. It ain't going to happen. It's not a protected right of anyone.
People have called for Eastern Washington to become it's own state after every election for a long time. It's illogical since they depend on King county. Without the tax money brought in by King the state would be in financial ruins. Eastern just can't do it on their own. That's the same in most states. Eastern Oregon and northern California have called for the same, but they have the same issues.
I would love for the west coast to be it's own nation, not because I'm not getting my way, but because I think the rest of the country is holding us back. But that would be a huge hit to the USA considering the west coast comprises almost 20% of the US GDP. That alone would make the federal government prevent the idea from coming to fruition.
