Mueller has submitted his report to the Justice Department, concluding his 2 year investigation of Russian meddling. There have been a total of 13 Twitter trolls, 12 Russian nationals, and 6 former Trump staffers indicted, none of which have anything to do with the central claim of Russian collusion. Only 6 of those indictments I consider legit, and those would have to be the Trump staffers, most of which were indicted over financial crimes and lying to the FBI. Mueller has not recommended any further indictments. In other words: GAME OVER.
You were all warned. Last year, before the midterms, Politico not only warned that this might be a nothing burger, but Mueller's findings may never be made public. Even Bob Woodward, who brought down President Nixon, couldn't find anything related to collusion or espionage, and he said he looked hard for it and turned up nothing. Mike Morell, former head of the CIA, even said that every media outlet worth its salt has been digging into this and they haven't found anything. He also said if there was something there, Mueller would already have it , and it would have been leaked. NSA whistleblower Bill Binney and CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou have appeared on The Jimmy Dore show debunking this conspiracy theory.
This has reduced left-wing media pundits and journalists to the same level as Sean Hannity. They push this conspiracy theory because they hate Trump. I remember when conservatives pushed this conspiracy theory that Obama wasn't born in The US. Russiagate is the left-wing equivalent of that. The biggest consequence of pushing this narrative is that this could ultimately help Trump get re-elected. Half the country believes that he is the victim of a witch hunt, even a majority of independents. Yes, our media sucks so bad that they help Trump's narrative. Way to go, media.
The other consequences of this bullshit narrative include an increase in military spending, suspension of Cold War treaties, increasing drone strikes in Syria, increasing NATO troops at Russia's border, increasing the number of ships in The Black Sea, and manufacturing consent for more censorship against alt-media. When The Young Turks network and other lefty news shows push this conspiracy theory, this is what they're pushing for. All because they hate Trump. While this investigation went on, Facebook and Twitter have been actively banning anti-war leftist accounts, most of which were not in any way related to Russia. I'm no fan of Trump myself, but I won't let him steal my sense of reason.
The following commentators and journalists who pushed back against this narrative are Jimmy Dore, Lee Camp, Jesse Ventura, Max Blumenthal, Jordan Chariton of Status Coup, Aaron Maté, Glenn Greenwald, Caitlin Johnstone and Kyle Kulinski of Secular Talk, and many more. These are the people you should be listening to. All of these political pundits, journalists, and politicians who went along with this bullshit narrative should be subject to endless shame.
