Steemit Portrait Photography Contest Week 13 - B&W PORTRAITS: Entry #2 "Blind Love"

in #portraitcontest7 years ago

One of the shots i did in a studio with a model Rugile that you might have seen before. This time i used one light playing with the shadows that drop in interesting way on her bony body and face.

Usually you want to see the eyes in the portrait this time we have covered it with shadows and you can instantly feel that life has been sucked out of the image just with a body shell left. That is how important the eyes are in the portrait. It gives life and personality.

This is my entry for Steemit Portrait Photography Contest, initiated by @jasonrussell and sponsored by @jessamynorchard and @rockchickjen.

When in Black and white i do love to see the game of lights and shadows. It can make or break a picture. :D

Indeed, nothing much is left in BW just the levels of luminosity.

Vut it can be so magical

Nice photo!! Resteem!

Thanks :)

Great photo... Love it..

Thanks mate :)

This is very interesting! The way the shadows change the whole picture. The face looks like an empty recipient but not in a bad way. I love shadows, they can screw your pic or take it to the next level... In this case the living dead level! Ha!

That's what i thought when i saw the results... No eyes... lifeless vessel...

such style in this combination of the light and the dark side plus her pose - just outstanding

Everybody has two sides, dark and light one i supposed, don't we?

haha you're right ! but not everybody know to represent this so good :- )(

Not everybody wants it :) If they want they can learn. Everybody can learn.

so good timing ! i'm watching right now on youtube some video by John Free about photography motivation.
he talk about practice - so he say that there is a practice in basketball, in golf and dancing but there is no practice in photography. and i can add even more - most people learn the basics of exposure and their camera tips and tricks, plus posing, composing and kinds of light but.. from year to year they take the same sh*tty images that you can find in every platform (also here)
i mean that there is something else that impossible to get with a theory !

Hmm interesting point of view, and i might agree to a degree :) But probably there is repetition (which is not practice) and there is practice what you learn in theory and try to apply and learn from mistakes. So it's kind of no one truth to it? As if i did not practice i would still be taking those shitty images i did in the beginning :)I'm not saying i'm very good now, still need to practice a lot. Oh, wait... it does not help :D

always in practice and in the learning process. just lately need much less clicks :-))

Great photo, my friend! Thank you! I mentioned you in my last post. 😘😗😙😚😙😗😘🤗🤗🤗

Did you? :) heading to see it :)

I love the way you have hidden the eyes in shadow in this shot. Very dramatic effect.

I am glad that we have succeeded in our plan considering your comment. Cheers!

It's an awesome portrait work! I like the lighting and of course, the shadow too!

Thanks mate, i've been trying :)
