Blanchys Post of the Week #3: 9月10号，军训第10天

Welcome to Blanchy's post of the week. The curation corner where I go in search of posts that live up to the high standards and quality that we at Hive are proud of. This is the 3rd week of my curation corner and it has been very successful. I have not been downvoted once. So after week 1 we had a step to step guide for cleaning your toilet. Week 2 we had nana-hive showing people her art in different angles and in week 3 we are going to a different continent yet again for our post of the week.

Now I have focused on the English language over the last couple of posts of the week but I found a post this week in Cantonise. But @blanchy you don't a speak-a the chinese-a I will hear you say . Oh I beg to differ. In rural Ireland we have many chinese restaurants so i have picked up some words along the way. @blanchy, unlike the spendHBD lackies likes to put a bit of effort into his posts for the good of Hive and a full translation will be offered.

Before I go further, I will issue you with a warning for this post of the week. It is like no other and is littered with danger and intrigue. It is from China from a little known Hiver called @jaychoumjs. I was scrolling through shit posts minding my own business when this posts title image dragged me in hook line and sinker. It is the best use of an image I have ever seen on Hive in all my days. The photo was of a man who looked , how can we put it , Mona Lisa glum. So lets see why our author looked sad with pain in his eyes.

The Title is September 10th, the 10th day of military training.

9月10号，一个特别的节日，没错，今天就是教师节，同时今天是军训的第10天，早上刷视频的时候，一直刷的就是，各个地方在过教师节，于是我就上微信给自己的老师发了教师节快乐，然后看到他们朋友圈里发到照片都收到了学生的祝福，我也挺开心的

For all you uneducated slack jaw yokels that cannot read Cantonise , I will give you the translation.
Now at first I was under the impression that our author got a slap off in the face from someone and this is why he looked so glum but this was not the problem.
So the author begins by saying it is National Teachers Day today and it was a special day as people celebrated the day in China so there were lots of chat messages going around about the parades and marches going on that day. But the author also mentions it is also his 10th straight day of military training.

A-ha, the plot does thicken!!!

Now I have been watching the Western news lately and I have seeing China is going all out to tell the world they are a force to be reckoned with and large military parades are being held in the country. This person is a part of this so I was intrigued to know how this military training is going. He doesn't look happy about it thats for sure.

早上一直在走分列式，今天早上的这个太艰难了，走了半天，教官始终不满意，一直让我们走，连续走了两个多小时，累死了，然后中午我去校医院检查了一下我的脚

During military training they were made march and the colonels were not happy with their marching so they made them march for 2 hours and they were all wrecked tired.

OK Ok I get why the author is a bit sad now. But 2 hours is not too bad in fairness. The chinese are tough. No woke mind virus there. Those guys could march all day standing on their head. There is more behind this glum face of his. We read on with anticipation.

A few days ago, when I was playing basketball, someone stepped on my foot, and then the toenail on my thumb turned purple. It loosened last night, so I went to check it out at noon today. I made an appointment, and the doctor said that it would be removed in the afternoon. I went to the hospital at noon, and then it was gone. I had lunch, and then went back to the dormitory and slept at noon. In the afternoon, I asked the instructor for leave, and then went to the hospital in the afternoon to remove the toenail.

Ahhhhhhh Finally the source of the glumness is evident. The classic case of toenail pain. Finally the case of the miserable face in the title. If anyone has ever had a toe nail faux pas then you would understand the misery of the author. And this is after the bloody 2 hour march. Fuck me. Ok ok so he is at the hospital and the doctor is gonna have a look at this toe nail. Lets see what happens.

等了一会儿，他终于让拔了，给我打了好多麻药，打麻药的时候特别疼，快哭出来，好歹忍了一下，然后拔掉了，他给我爆炸了一下，然后我就回宿舍休息了，因为缠了绷带没法继续训练，后面几天的军训都不参加了，
After waiting for a while, he finally let me pull it out and gave me a lot of anesthetic. It was very painful when the anesthetic was given, and I almost cried. I endured it for a while, and then he pulled it out. He gave me an explosion, and then I went back to the dormitory to rest.

So the doctor had to remove the toe nail and the pain was excruciating . Good Lorrrrddd. The author mentions the doctor gave him anesthetic but it does not mention if it was before our after the toe nail rip off. In fairness the doctor did a good job bandaging up that big toe. I don't know what it is about big toes images that always compel me to make shortlist this post for blanchys post of the week.
There have many many toe photos on Hive and it is very surprising just how much when you go looking. We should onboard a few foot fetish sex people onto hive. They would love it. And considering I didn't go with the toe posts over the last 2 week I went with my instincts on this week and went with the toe post. You are welcome. To the authors credit , his toes are not in that bad of condition. The posts I have seen where their toes are a holy disgrace. Here's one and the author of that post even fucking put his Hive name in the picture.

其实也挺好的，军训强度比较大，这两天太阳也特别大，有点受不了了，明天就搁旁边阴凉处坐着，看他们军训吧
I couldn't continue training because of the bandage. I didn't participate in the military training for the next few days. In fact, it was not bad. The intensity of military training was quite high. The sun was also very strong these two days. I couldn't stand it. I will sit in the shade tomorrow and watch their military training.*

Every cloud has a silver lining and the injured toe has meant that our author is pardoned from doing anymore military training. He mentions that the intensity of the training was quite high and it was very hot so he said he will watch the training from the sidelines tomorrow. He also mentions his toe wasn't that bad.

Now as you are aware from my DHF post. I am a natural cynic and this turned this post upside down for me.
I have many questions here and it leads me to believe this is a classic case of pulling a sickie!!!

Was the glum face put on?
Was the author secretly delighted?

Our author watches from the sidelines with his toe resting on a chair while his friends and colleagues march up and down in the baking sun giving him the evil eyes when they see him eating an ice cream.

Is he gloating?
Is the big toe a big fuck you to the military?

The fact that the author speaks aboout military training at length rather than just his big toes gives me reason to believe that the two are linked.
What I liked about this post is that it keeps the author guessing. He endures the pain of having his toe nail removed but experiences the bliss of not having to march for hours in the baking sun. His title image is one of pain and sadness but is it a sadness that has delightful undertones. Was this a classic case getting your toe nail pulled off to get out of work?? I can think of less painful things to do in order to get out of work but who knows in China , a toe nail extract may be the minimum requirement to get out of a military exercise. The common cold just would not be enough so the old toe nail trick could do the job.

But we do not see the toe nail pre post you say. The author counteracts this with a percription and some tablets to indeed show the Hive user that this is indeed a medical issue.

I have messaged the author to get back to me on his his toes current condition and sent him an HBI for winning the post of the week. Now unlike the two posts from week 1 and 2 which were upvoted more. This author has only received 4 cent for his post so far which is a real shame because unlike the last two weeks , this is good content so I urge you to upvote him here

Now as I sent in my two recent posts , if i find that this is a 10/10 post I will personnally contact appreciator and urge them to give you a 100% vote which is worth around 60 quid. But unfortunately this week I can only give this post an 9/10. The reason for this is I was contacted by an anonymous source saying that the author could have easily marched and instead he sat there eating ice cream while writing his Hive post while the others suffered. Blanchy does not condone these actions so I had to knock off a point in this regard but 9/10 is still a great score. You should be proud of yourself and please see below a Hive basic Income token for your toe troubles.

Military training in China is the equivalent of freshers week in the UK.

Basically, instead of going out on the lash for a week solid, 1st year students at university in China do military training.

Now that might sound good fun. I mean after all what’s better than getting pissed? Probably getting pissed and driving a tank or firing an automatic weapon. Right?

Unfortunately you don’t get to do either of those during Chinese ‘military training’. Instead you just learn to March up and down a bit while they shout party propaganda at you and beat any last vestiges of individuality out of the students before they commence their journey into higher education. Good times!

I think I’d probably cut my toe off to skip that pleasure.
