Hey speedsters and blockchain fans — welcome back to the track! Today we’re diving into one of the most thrilling aspects of Moon Karts: Power-Ups. These aren’t just flashy extras — they can turn the tide of a race when used wisely.

What Are Power-Ups in Moon Karts?

Power-Ups in Moon Karts are special ability cards you bring into the race, distinct from your driver, kart, or tech upgrades. While they don’t boost raw stats, they grant tactical advantages: disrupting opponents, protecting yourself, or gaining bursts of speed.

You acquire Power-Ups by opening Centauri packs and slotting them into your loadout. It’s another layer of strategy — not just which power-ups to bring, but when to deploy them.

The Core Power-Ups (Launch Day Set)

Here’s a breakdown of the flagship Power-Ups and how they can shake up the racing battlefield:

  • Lunar Glide - Leaves an oil slick behind your kart. Any racer traversing it risks slipping and losing control. Best used in tight corners or crowded chicanes.

  • Celestial Thrust - Grants a sudden, powerful acceleration boost. Ideal for straightaways or overtaking late in the race.

  • Moonfire Missile - A homing projectile you fire at an opponent. If it connects, it disrupts their trajectory — perfect for targeting a rival ahead.

  • Cosmic Disruptor - Emits an electromagnetic shockwave. It interferes with nearby opponents’ controls, sowing confusion at critical junctures.

  • Lunar Bolt - Summons a lightning strike on a targeted opponent, momentarily slowing them and giving you an opening.
  • Lunar Barrier - Wraps your kart in a temporary shield, protecting you from incoming attacks or collisions. Best reserved for tense moments near the finish.
Strategy Tips & Timing

Timing is everything. For example, dropping Lunar Glide in a sharp turn could force multiple rivals into chaos. Meanwhile, Cosmic Disruptor is most devastating when several opponents are clustered close. Lunar Barrier should be saved for when you’re vulnerable or under heavy attack.

Also, map knowledge matters: knowing where straightaways and tight curves lie helps you decide whether to stash speed boosts or deploy chaos tools. Over time, experimentation and pattern recognition become your allies.
