Once upon a time
In a far away land
There lived a beautiful princess
Who could turn time's hand
Yesterday, today, tomorrow
Autumn, spring, winter
Sunny, cloudy, rainy
January to December
Her hair as golden as the summer sun
Her skin as white as winter's snow
Her lips were full and plump
Her eyes held mysteries untold
She was the fairest of them all
A diamond amongst rocks
All the princess from far and near
At her feet they would flock
The beautiful princess had it all
Power, wealth and might
But one thing she lacked
A soul to love her for life
Oh how desperately she wanted that
To be held dear in someone's heart
To be the bane of their existence
To be till death do them part
And so the princess set out a task
To all that came in a carriage
A worthy price would be their reward
Her hand in marriage
And so into the river
She threw a tick of her tock
Which ever prince could find it
Would complete her clock
The princes all had their doubts
About this absurd quest
Was it their strength or their wits
What did she want to test
The fearless and brave princes
Jumped in without a thought
They swam and dived
In search of what they sought
The cowardice princes
Wanted no part in the matter
They could marry other princess's
Even if this one was better
While the brave and fearless
We're already in the water
The smart and wise could not help but waver
Some of the smart and wise
Joined the cowardice prince's
They would find other brides
And make them their Mrs
