They can afford to be less evil because their product is mainly hardware and app store, rather than advertising based like google. That puts them in a unique position to fight on the side of privacy, so that's awesome
That is awesome. Maybe this is the beginning of an evolution of sorts, wherein the “people” corporations claim to be actually develop a legitimate foundation of ethics to stand on. Lol. I don’t know how I feel about Apple being my moral compass. I’m gonna need to process this.
Apple is pretty great re privacy because they can afford to be: hardware is their business, not ads.
Also there's an incentive for them to push other apps away from ad business model to paid, so that they can collect a percentage of app download price.
