On a common working day, an expert computer programmer could possibly get into work at any time which ranges from about 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM based on the application area employed in as well as the present project he is taking care of during the time. These are generally approximations only simply because ultimately each and every scenario is exclusive.

If – for instance – he is doing work in investment financial in Europe assisting monetary investors it is most likely than on a minimum of some days he would reach about 7:00 AM prior to the financial markets open up. The main reason he would have to be around is mainly that the traders are going to be utilizing a software program that he has possible developed or boosted for their specifications.

When there is a glitch he might be called upon to supply a remedy in a rush or else he could possibly have some unsatisfied consumers. Traders are especially reliant on the program they normally use so in this instance his clients may find a glitch quite nerve-racking.

His project list would be stored on a shared program which all people in the group he is doing work in can look at their particular computer monitors. An illustration task could be to incorporate an extra field towards the software program to be able to permit traders to enter some more information just like a price or interest rate.

The program will oftentimes appear to the trader is a window on his computer monitor similar to window employed to type out a Microsoft Word file. Therefore the extra field will shop up within this window once it was included by the computer programmer.

I think there is all kind of people that work as a computer programmer.

So even though there are some with a ver wealthy social life as you mentioned, the typical programmer must also exists out there (the nerd that works late in the night, again, as you mentioned)

But as this kind of job become more and more popular, the type of people that study this will become greater as well, so yes, the typical programmer will become less common as time goes by.

Adapting the revolutionary flow of millenial programmers. :D

I am a freelance programmer. Like any job, you really see all kinds of people from all walks of life. For example, I live on a boat and often move from place to place because I like to travel. Of course, I also have to work, so I do it from the boat in most cases. And yes, like a "typical programmer" most of my hobbies involve computers and technology because that is what I have a passion for. I don't think I would have become a programmer if I didn't (my masters is in chemical engineering not computer science).

That's the best thing of having a computer-related job. We could work wherever we want. ;)

Yup, wherever and whenever for the most part. I've been doing this since like 1999 and I don't intend to stop anytime soon.

Hope I could have a stable job like yours. I'm still a fresh graduate but got little side projects. :D

It hasn't always been stable but once you get enough work under your belt things start to get easier in that regard. My main advice to anyone who wants to work as a freelancer or as a programmer in general is to make a portfolio of projects etc. The easiest way to sell yourself as a programmer to an employer is to just show them that you can do the job and visual/flashy projects help a lot towards that end (even if you want to do systems/backend programming). Just fill up a github repository of work and contributions.

That is a great trick. Noted ;)
