RE: Creating a New Retro Space Battle Game Inspired by Star Trek .BAS

in #programming3 days ago (edited)

I still have my copy of that book! I'm not sure if I played that game, but I know I tried to get some of them working on the college system we could access at work via Teletype. I may have tried some on the Beeb too, but BASIC dialects did differ a bit. The college system had some text games like Lunar Lander.

I played a lot of Elite on the Beeb, from cassette. I guess that was a successor of the Star Trek game.

Sort:

Elite was so impressive fitting all of that game into 32kb

I think about 10k of that was used for displaying the graphics that mixed 2 modes, but they still squeezed in about 4000 systems to visit. Amazing bit of coding.
