Glad to see @promo-steem is a successful project.

My 2 cents about your query:

parent_author=' ' AND depth=0

Both filter are redundant. And using parent_author=' ' will slow down your query even more as this column is not indexed.

category in ('promo-steem')

Better to use category = 'promo-steem'
