CURATORS REWARD EXPLAINED.
Curators on steemit platform are fellow steemians that upvoted a particular post. Upvoting itself is a way of showing support to the voter for a great job, this could be liken to likes on Facebook and even Twitter.
REWARD
Unlike other platforms, you get rewarded for your social media activities on steemit therefore upvoters ( steemians who upvoted your post) get a share of total payout from a post. This is called Curators reward and is pegged at 25% of the total payout while the 75% is for the author.
Another funny twist is that, the time you upvoted a post is crucial too. As all earnings in the first 30 minutes of a post is paid to the author. You only earn on upvote after 30 minutes.

As for me curator reward is a reward you receive when you vote (like) on a post. At least 25% of the rewards always go to the author, the other 75% is divided between the author, the curators and the commenters. Curation rewards are paid out 100% in STEEM POWER, which increases the power of your up-votes, so you help the content creators and yourself!
The smallest bracket where curators are able to obtain rewards is the period between 3 minutes and 15 minutes after post publication. In this bracket when a curator upvotes, they are able to work towards 10% of the total 25% curator rewards while the author receives 75% of it.
