What is Steemit?
A lot of people have not heard about this great platform, maybe because they haven't actually heard about it or some people just heard it and registered, they dont know how it actually works.
Now am telling you what it is and I expect you to share with those who haven't heard about it.
Steemit is a blogging and social media platform built on Steem blockchain.
Steemit is not new, but its popularity is gradually growing beyond expectations, it was officially launched on July 4th 2016, and it has grown viral with over 500,000 users, expecting millions of users by the end of 2018.
Its a company based in New York City and headquartered in Virginia.
Steemit was created by Ned Scott(@ned) and Dan larimes the founder of Bitshares and EOS.
There's no sign that it'll close up anytime soon, not now, not ever.
I will say, Steemit seems miraculous to me when I first heard about it, so I wouldn't fight you if you doubt it at first, but you need to give it a try in order to clear your doubts and help others by introducing it to them.
This is like a little gate that leads to pleasure from life, I can take a bet that steemit is part of those things that will make this new generation of the 21st century easy to survive "quote my words".
Our generation will be the best, with the advanced technologies and ideas coupled together by great inventors, professors etc. The ones created and yet to be, This present generation will be the best of all time.
Life will become a living heaven for upcoming kids in this computer age.

Steemit is a SIN
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean sin as in sin, I mean;
"Sense in nonsense" (SIN)
I am not indirectly saying other platform is nonsense, I am saying;
Whatever you indulge in that doesn't fetch you profit, added knowledge etc. Is a pure waste of time.
The term sense in nonsense, is like mining gold out of a rusted iron.
Most platform (Social media) I know, which you're also familiar with, fetches you almost nothing, I see it as a distraction and at the same time profitless.
Even if I choose to be distracted, it should be by something worth it.
Essence of Steemit
Steemit was created to help you achieve so many things.
- Expose you into the crypto-world.
- Show you how to live your life reasonably.
- Helps you learn from greater Scholars(Achieve)
- You'll get to meet new people all around the world(Mingle)
- Make transactions with people you never knew, chat and share ideas with them.
- The most amazing part about this platform is that it pays you for whatever you find pleasure in doing, what you seem to be best at, what you could do for free. It rewards you for every single thing you do on it, what you've been doing in other social media for nothing (I call it sports/entertainment on internet, as you can see how athletes and entertainers get paid by what they love doing.
Automatically you're promoting yourself and getting rewards for it, you're promoting the platform and also getting rewards, unlike promoting other social media and you get absolutely nothing, not even a thank you.
How Steemit Operates
Post and earn, Comment and earn, Like and earn, your reputation starts at 25 the higher your reputation the tougher it increases.
Reputation
Your reputation on Steemit is like your life, just like in a game, the more you advance, kill villains and get rewards, the higher your life grows, but when you cheat or you make unnecessary mistakes, your life drops, same applies to Steemit, when you get rewards from curations and upvotes, your reputation grows, and when you indulge in plagiarism, you get flagged/down voted.
Curation
This are the rewards you get from getting to discover popular contents, up voting them and also getting upvoted, the rewards you get from, comments, post submissions.
The vote strength and curation rewards are influenced by the amount of steem-power held by the voter.
Upvotes
This are the likes you get from fellow steemians.
Flag/Down vote
Flagging and downvotes are of the same class, it means to dislike.
Just like you report a post that is improper or illegal on other sites.
You'll surely get flagged if you plagiarise, and pray not to ever get it from a whale, its better not to post than to plagiarise, this also occurs when you use wrong tags.
Plagiarism
This is the act of making fake post, a post not originally composed by you. I like to call this (Operation Copy and paste).
I like to see Steemit as a game, and all games as stages/level.
Steemit is the same, we have three stages you have to pass through before claiming to be a great steemian
Steemit stages
- Minnows
- Dolphins
- Whales
Minnows are the newbies on steemit, they are the fellows that just got introduced to it. During that time of being a minnow it can be quite discouraging for those who aren't hard working enough, but if enough effort and time is sacrificed, a minnow will advance and turn out to be a dolphin.
Dolphins are the intermediate, the mediate between the minnows and the mighty whales.
They are steemians that were able to endure during the hard times, They are bloggers who are patient enough to run steemit for a long time, even when they get no rewards for their post.
This is the time when you best enjoy steemit, when you've achieved enough to prove to others that steemit is worth clamouring about.
Whales are the Almighty Steemians, Their name already has described all that needs to be talked about. They are automatically on top of the world, It is common among people like this, to set up contest, in order to encourage more Steemians from backing out, they are the God in the game.
I like to jokingly address them as the mighty Trump in the united states.
Rewards
The same question newbies keep asking me after I direct them on how to create their steemit account is "How do I Cash my Rewards"
Its so simple, authors who get upvoted can receive their monetary reward in a cryptocurrency token named Steem inform of Steem power and Steem dollar; which is liquidity.
You can also easily access steemit by using the wonderful application created for it.
I use eSteem app, busy.org to access steemit, and I find them cool and easy to use.
Non steemian
For those who are yet to become a Steemian, I bet you'll be the happiest person on earth if you become part of this, you'll be happy to be a Steemian.
Advantages
Here you can brainstorm, Share your daily quotes, Poetries, tell your little fiction fairy tales, Share news, Help save people's life by teaching what they should know, Share your artworks and crafts, teach people about life and love, motivate people, inspire them.
You can achieve your life time dream here on Steemit, you will equally learn from other people in the same field as you and also get rewards for doing so.
You must always achieve something on a daily basis, if not something very big, you could become a dolphin in a matter of days/weeks if you're so hard working.
Remember, your hardwork helps you get noticed on time, and if a whale notices you, and upvote you, that'll be a plus for you, you'll definitely get more than what you've bargained for.
I can't get to tell you all the advantages that is attached to this platform, because its beyond one mans say, they are lots more, you'll get to discover for yourself.
A wise man once said;
Everything in life is not about money, but make sure you make enough of it before thinking or listening to such nonsense.
What I believe he's trying to say is that, money should be your first priority in life, before chasing after any other thing.
Money can turn you into a mad wild lion in a matter of seconds.
But knowledge should also be acquired at the same time, because the knowledge that is truly yours will last for a life time.
Yes I agree, money is a material thing in life, its nothing, yet we kill ourselves to own it, that is why its a sin.
A Sin in the sense that you get "Something out of nothing"
Without money your life means nothing in this present world.
In life you need power, wisdom, wealth good health and strength to rule and lead, money gives all, if its properly used and not abused.
If you join steemit or you're already part of it, you'll understand what am trying to imply better.
Disadvantages
Everything in life has its own disadvantage, but I can guarantee you, Steemit is nothing compared to those site you work on for free.
The only disadvantage I observed lately is that it consumes your time and makes you love it better than any other platform and since you're getting rewards for your every act on it, then there's nothing to worry about.
Another is when you cheat, and get plagiarized.
I don't expect you to do that when you can always offer what you have in your head.
Always remember this, you are here to teach people and learn from people, you're not here to fool people and to be fooled by people.
If you're on steemit for just the money, then you're have loosed already, because it will be very obvious and most of your act are tend to get you flagged/downvoted,

Just type http://steemit.com in your browser url, click on steemit/signup, follow the necessary procedures, and in few days your account will be fully validated.
