Today's walk with @dreemsteem brought us to Three Rivers and the man-made Lake Kaweah in Central California. However, there's a bit of a drought here, so, the lake is mostly missing in this part of the reservoir.
In fact, when I was here a few years ago, where I was standing for the shot above would be completely underwater. The red line, below, is about the level of the water 2 years ago:
We stood on the shores, @dreemsteem, her husband and I, a couple years ago, and saw the dotted trees mostly submerged, in spring. During winter all the snows accumulate on the mountain peaks. In March, the melting snow becomes runoff, turning into streams and rivers and waterfalls, everywhere.
The little falls I took images of today, (like above) and below:
Were all under about twenty to twenty five feet of water in the lake.
The water today was amazingly clear, too. So nice out, families everywhere, on the shores, sitting on rocks, some fishing, some getting some sun. All enjoying a beautiful day, some even venturing into the crystal clear, icy, glacier fed, COLD water!
