The Untangle

In the midst of it she realised the loneliness.

She turned to the one from whom she was estranged.

She saw that the part that needs reason terrorised the part that longed for love.

The heart cannot displace the head. The head cannot displace the heart. What remained was the spirit, weakened by merciless compulsions.

Confusion reigned. A vague head and a perturbed heart.

She wanted a clear head. But her weakened mind resisted, threadbare from trying to solve insoluble matters of the heart.

She wanted to love. But her tired heart wept, saddened by its failed attempts to heal matters of the head.

One morning.

A new day.

She began to untangle herself.

From now on her clear intention would guide how her head related to the present and to the future.

From now on her past would provide useful fodder her intention alone, not for spiralling ruminations.

She directed her head home, liberating it from matters of the heart. The head rediscovered its power in strength and clarity.

She whispered to her heart to drop the fight. She felt where she was and accepted it totally.

The heart began to feel itself and its presence grew. Like dams released, love and peace rushed in.

And so she began to Untangle.
