Yes, this is what i said too - all chat communications outside of the blockchain. People should not vote for chat-like private messages. Not should it be permanently stored anywhere.

As for the third party chat i am very much skeptical because what is the difference then between lots of existing chat options?

Besides, there is steemit.chat which is not a good option for many reasons either.

  1. The chat should be integrated. Meaning while I am at this very interface replying to you or upvoting your post, i should be able to just as easily send you a private message.

  2. The chat should not have a separate and different login.

  3. The chat name should match exactly your user name that is used throughout the whole platform and blockchain.

  4. There should be a certainty that the chat messages will be delivered to the other party (unless sender is blacklisted) and that everybody on the platform is automatically included in the chat users pool.

Every other platform that I am aware of has something that can be used for direct private messaging.

Besides, it will reduce bloating of this platform from chat-like messages that treated like posts while they should really be in private chat.
