Crim has said in multiple comments that "those in command" are adamantly opposed to payment upfront for work. And with all the people who disappear in a puff of smoke, I don't blame them. But Crim should not be expected to volunteer 6 years of her life to this platform and then get told to piss off when she asks for some compensation.
Crim has been the champion of this chain since its inception and the token only stands where it is because of her hard work. (not to discredit all the other people who work on the chain, but Crim is the one I know and see the most.)
I'm not proposing payment upfront and that isn't how the DHF works.
I'm not sure who "those in command" are - every stakeholder has the opportunity to support proposals or otherwise.
Yes, it does. Many proposals receive payment in advance of providing services. All of Blocktrades do, for example.

Now you can be sure who they are.
Yes, but you also realize that you need 10 of us small fry fish with 20,000 hive powered up to equal 1 200,000 dolphin.
Its irrational to act like we are all equal shareholders because we simply have hive powered up. The whales will always outnumber us and I wouldn't be surprised if they have consolidated power so us smaller users are functionally null and void.
They have since the first Steem token was mined.
IMG source - Arcange - ~36 whales have maintained a majority of stake and governed Hive since it's inception. They receive >90% of the rewards from the pool, and always have.
