On January 30, 2017, President Donald Trump signed an executive order restricting visas and immigration as well as the entry of refugees (primarily Muslims) from seven countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Immigration for citizens from these seven countries has been suspended for 90 days from the signing of the EO, refugees from any country have been denied entry for 120 days from the signing and refugees from Syria specifically have been banned indefinitely.
Refugees are people who are forced out of their country because of persecution from their beliefs or creed or race. As such they have no option to return to their homes for fear of lives. Immigrants are those seeking to reside in a new country, for a job or for greener pastures such as a better way of life, freedom, healthcare, etc. And yet the US is turning all these people away. Immigrants built America. America has always been a refuge for people seeking a new and better life, a safe life. Now we have turned our backs on them.
Critics have labeled this a Muslim ban, as it primarily affects immigrants and refugees from these Muslim countries. Trump even reiterated his campaign promise to build a wall along the Mexico border. The signing of the executive order sparked numerous protests all over the country, and outcries from governments around the world, even American allies - the UK and Germany.
Let our voices be heard. It is left for us to act. Already there are t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, and other products available on Amazon, and other online stores.
Until full checks have and can be done on the refugees I agree with Trump, protection of your people should always come first and foremost.
And as for the wall along the Mexican border, what's wrong with that? If a country has a problem with illegal immigrants sneaking into the country should that country be able to protect itself? I mean anyone that has full legal documention won't have a problem getting in only the ones that want to get in illegally, that word right there illegally, should explain the exact reason to build a wall.
