What you need to know about the gatherings?
Currently, there is a military gathering, where it seems like you're just coming for the gathering, but it turns out that after the exercises, you're sent to the front, and you end up as fertilizer in Ukrainian trenches. This was the case in the past and the year before.

What to do to avoid going to the military enlistment office? Don't sign the summons.
If you are officially employed, it is quite possible that they will come to work for you, so consider taking sick leave.

If you have evaded receiving the summons, namely not signing it - then the problem is solved. If you received a summons, you can simply not show up, and you will face a list of restrictions and a fine ranging from 10k to 30k.

If you did not come according to the received summons, you will receive a number of restrictions:

  • Register as an individual entrepreneur;
  • Registration with the tax authority as self-employed;
  • Registration of real estate in the cadastral register, registration of property rights to real estate;
  • Manage vehicles and register them;
  • Obtain loans and borrowings.

Also, let me remind you of a story:
"On September 28, 2022, 50-year-old reserve major Oleg Sergeev received a summons to the military enlistment office. He was told there that he was being sent to ten-day military exercises, however, at the assembly point in Penza, Mr. Sergeev was informed that he was mobilized for the Special Military Operations. At the same time, there were no marks of mobilization in the military ID, the military enlistment office did not issue a mobilization order, there was no medical examination. According to the major, at the assembly point "they were surprised that officers arriving from Ulyanovsk did not have documents issued by the military enlistment office." Oleg Sergeev and two other officers wrote reports to the district military commissar and the leadership of the assembly point, but did not receive official responses, after which Mr. Sergeev filed an application with the Zasviyazhsky District Court of Ulyanovsk to recognize the actions of the military enlistment office and the conscription commission as illegal and to oblige the district military commissariat to "restore the right to conscription for military service by mobilization in accordance with the procedure established by the current legislation of the Russian Federation." In the lawsuit, he also noted that due to the negligence of the military enlistment office, which did not formalize the documents, he was deprived of the corresponding rights of a serviceman, length of service and military pension, while he "is ready for conscription by mobilization, but for everything to be done legally."

In November 2023, the military investigation department opened a criminal case against the major on the fact of desertion (part 5 of article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, up to 10 years of imprisonment)."
