The python anaconda distribution is an easy and fast solution to gain fast access to beempy
on a computer without dealing with system packages.
1. Download the anaconda GUI installer
Download the anaconda for python 3.6 for your operating system: anaconda download.
2. Run the installer and follow the steps
The installer looks similar for other operation systems.
3. Start the Anaconda Prompt and add the conda-forge channel
Start the Anaconda Prompt ( You find it under Anaconda3 (64-bit))
Add the conda-forge channel by entering the following into the prompt:
conda config --add channels conda-forge
4. Install beem inside the Anaconda Prompt
conda install beem
5. Using beempy
All available commands can be printed by
beempy --help
The help for an individual command can be printed by:
beempy claimreward --help
6. Tips and tricks
Update the node list:
beempy updatenodes --show
Set your account as default account:
beempy set default_account holger80
Check your settings by:
beempy config
Create a new wallet for storing posting, active or memo keys:
beempy createwallet --wipe
enter a password twice
and add your posting key and/or your active key:
beempy addkey
Enter the wallet password to unlock and paste your key
You can now use beempy to broadcast! For example, we will use beempy
to claim all rewards:
beempy claimreward
7. Read the manual
You can find a complete command listing here: https://beem.readthedocs.io/en/latest/cli.html
Cool to see you uploaded the package to conda-forge at https://anaconda.org/conda-forge/beem.
Personally I'd recommend users install miniconda versus anaconda and then create a new environment perhaps for using beem. I see lot's of issues when people try to use one environment for everything.
Are there many dependencies?
The conda package has the following dependencies:
- python - future - ecdsa - requests - websocket-client - appdirs - events - scrypt - pycryptodomex - pytz - six - prettytable - click - cryptography
Hi @holger80! We are @steem-ua, a new Steem dApp, computing UserAuthority for all accounts on Steem. We are currently in test modus and want to thank you for delegating SP to us in this early stage!
This post has been just added as new item to timeline of beem on Steem Projects.
If you want to be notified about new updates from this project, register on Steem Projects and add beem to your favorite projects.
@holger80 : I guess it will work seamlessly with Linux platforms too. If so this is a super cool library for me. I already use Anaconda. I can just install beempy to it. Wonderful. :)
