Southern African Rock Python (Python natalensis) lying upside-down
One morning I found our young African Rock Python lying in this position - I thought it was dead. However it was very much alive. It was lying on it's back on the heating pad.
I have never seen this behavior before or since - most extraordinary !

So, any hypothesis as to what might be causing this kind of behaviour? I doubt its back felt cold... :)
