Specific to Steemit: Break-up Content or Keep it in One Long Article?

Question for Steemians.jpg

In your opinion, is it better to break up long-form content in multiple pieces or present in one long article? Or is there even a preference?

Bonus points if anyone can attest to whether there are technical aspects as to why one would be a better choice than the other!

I’m currently working on two pieces of content:

  1. A side project I’m working showing how to build a Chatbot using Dialogflow, Firestore, Slack and Messenger.

  2. The other is a growing list of Steemit specific research.

How would you structure such pieces and why?

I should mention, I'm asking the question in specific regard to Steemit, not as a general question about content production.

At the time of writing this, no one posted answers to the question but I did find a range of interesting answers posted in past blogs:

  • @maxabit Says in this post:
"If you have just started or have been blogging only for a few weeks, don't take the trouble of creating long form content. Honestly, it will go waste and this is a bitter truth that most may not like to hear."
  • @holm Says in this post:
"I think it is fair to agree on that both long and short posts brings something to the table. Neither should be neglected and one shouldn't necessarily be less worth than the other. So in the end it might after all be all about how we use it?"
Holm's article is of particular interest as it looks at other successful steemians and shows that both long and short form have their place here on Steem.
  • @donkeypong & @liberosist Say in this post:
While paraphrasing, that Steemit is a lot like Reddit in that it's engagement that matters, not the length.
  • @profitgenerator Offers Some Anecdotal Research Here I'm not sure it helps answer the question much, but it's worth a read regardless and I appreciated the attempt at taking a bit more of a scientific approach to arriving at an answer.

Conclusion

At least for now, I will continue to break up the research and post back to the central hub piece of that can be found here. It makes sense that eyes need to make it to posts and some topics ought to be broken out into smaller bites to make it more likely to be seen, at least if you're new to the platform. There is no reason—that I can see at least—why one wouldn't want to, however, do both.

I prefer short article.

Thanks for chiming in.

You've got the answers already... Truth is, having your content all boggled up would make it less attractive, hence little or no appeal to read or peruse. Spacing it, like you have done with this one, is a major attraction.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Francisihe!

It all buoys down to what you'll like to have your eye on.
If you'll like contents filled up, then your readers might want it. In summary, Short posts/contents are good for the eyes and if it must be long, use enough white spaces to break the paragraphs. Thanks

Thanks fscatter for taking the time to answer. To clarify, I'm not asking about content in general or best practice. I'm asking specifically in regards to how it relates to SMT.
