Quote for the Day: "Travel is Fatal to Prejudice, Bigotry, and Narrow-Mindedness"

in #quote6 years ago

This quote is one of my favorite quotes of all time and helps to define my thoughts behind traveling. It is just part of a quote from the American author, Mark Twain. The entire quote is "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”

I know what my opinion is on this quote. I feel that we as a society as a whole, owe it to ourselves and to others to travel and broaden our senses. We should see other cultures so as to open our mind to the world and people around us.
