Annual Count Down to 2018
January - Kicked off the year with on of the big five, the mighty African Buffalo, a majestic big animal that do not know how to stand down, turning hunter into hunted if not careful.
February - We walked along rivers looking at birds in the area, brightly coloured brown hooded kingfisher are plentiful along our coast where rivers spill out into the Indian Ocean.
March - Hunting for rock formations carved out by wind or water, almost like a treasure hunt, meeting people sharing photography.
April - Land Crabs come out to play, not the biggest one however showed itself before scurrying away, walking around carrying your home on your back must be quite tiresome!
May - Adrenalin Junkies Ahoy - Zip Line Extreme Oribi Gorge, we kicked down a gear and watched people drop down the line, letting go of all fear releasing stress screaming down the cliff.
June - Mid-Winter driving up in the mountains witnessing an unusual sight of ice hanging on telephone wires where sprinkling system had been used early in the morning, turning them into a dazzling sight in the cool morning air.

July - Giant-leaf fig tree visit, sharing amazing trees along the sub-tropical coastal region where we live, giving an idea what trees are capable of giving, if grown too close to home how they are capable of damaging too.
August - Animals sharing a clearing in the forest, each would warn the other of danger, enjoying a moment out in the wooded area. Are humans able to look out for each other like this comes to mind.
September - Palm trees of which there are many in our area, visited different palm trees found out some of the palm trees indigenous to our sub-tropical region.
October - Yellow-billed Kite a frequent visitor around our garden, over the valley or in the park. Scavanging food normally road kill, life is about living, getting what you can where you are able, nothing changed during this year, it has had many twists and turns.
November - Living on the east coast, shared some insight into the best times to visit. Our summer months you may end up with lightning storms, rain, high winds up on the East Coast of South Africa, or humid, extremely hot uncomfortable days, winter months best time of the year here in Durban for me.
December - With the wonderful rains we have had this year, pink petals shared with drops of rain, greeting in a new day, now we say goodbye to 2018 and look for new stories to tell and share using photography, I may even try settle into some video soon.
No matter what comes down the road, looking to nature to teach, grow and live, saving our environment is foremost one of the problems. Wishing everyone a wonderful 2019 may you be healthy and stay safe wherever you are.

Lovely memories @joanstewart, my favourite is Oribi Gorge although I'm not brave enough to do that zipline! Happy new year to you and yours:)
Happy New Year @lizelle I would rather go down a zip line easier for me than cooking up the wonderful recipes you create and share!
Oh no I'm too much of a scaredy cat, the kitchen is much safer ;)

Happy New Year. I enjoyed going through the trips you made to show us your area of the world. Looks like a great place but I do not know if I every could live in the southern part of the world and having summer in December.
Some companies have fun with Christmas in June/July being the cooler months, still no snow where I live!
I would love to visit the north under a blanket of snow over the festive holidays one year to know what it feels like.
What a great idea to place a photo from every month Lady Joan and to accompany each with some great words. Very innovative and guaranteed that I will post photos of my ride on the zip line if ever I get there! Blessings to you guys for this New Year!
Quite something going through the year of posts, seeing which ones you shared, it adds up to quite a few Stephen. Let me know when you hit that zip line, I will video you going down....

Very cute and ferocious animals,
You have reached a lot of places.
I'm out of sorts these last few days - not feeling well for weeks and unsure of my path. It's one foot in front of the other and try to keep the balls in the air!
So many gorgeous shots! I wish I had your talent @joanstewart. Let this be our best year ever :)
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well, really hope you find your footing, and able to make contact with Caleb which will put your mind at rest Sharon.
