Colour splashes

in #quratoryesterday

Sometimes I stumble on a fun theme in Qurator's Photo Quest, and happen to have photos that fit! This week's theme is color splash, and a few scenes immediatly came to mind.

Now, man can create quite a few of these splashes, be it in a natural setting or in the middle of a concrete jungle. But even so, I would argue that Mother Nature gets the upper hand in this particular subject.

Balloons definitely fit the criteria. And I was especially lucky here: I was visiting Cappadocia, in Turkey, and due to weather conditions there were no balloons flying for over a week. On the second day of the year, weather finally improved, and I was able to see the amazing Cappadocia landscape from above, together with hundreds of balloons.

Can't say which was the most colourful one I've seen, but they definitely stood out in the landscape... even before lifting off!

On a different setting, I was surprised by a colour show in one of the most amazing gardens I have been.

Singapore is one of a kind, and Gardens by the Bay, one of the country's crown jewels, surely lives up to the expectations. Every day the Supertrees would light up, in a beautiful display of music and colours.

The structures alone and the gardens deserve a visit even without any colour show; in fact, I would argue that if there's anything you have to see while visiting Singapore, it would be this place!

Now, these were the man made colous splashes. And beautiful as they are... do you think they can top this?

Yes, this golden hour was something special, it's not everytime that I can see the sky with these colours; and the scattered clouds make the contrast even more lively. Nevertheless, even a more modest sunset would be a great contender against the man made splashes.

Even the wild creatures have an edge here!

Of course, being the wildlife junkie that I am I might be just a little biased on this topic... but c'mon, how amazing are the colour splashes in a peacock? 😉

Who wins? You have my opinion, but I'll let you decide!

Wow those balloons are so colorful. Both shots are excellent. I love the first shot but the second shows more of the landscape 🤔
