Rabona - How does the league system work?

in #rabona4 years ago

Last week, when I first told you about my newest project - Rabona, a soccer manager game based on Hive - I promised that I would try to make regular updates on the state of the project. Now, a busy week has passed since that blog post and its about time for an update.

By now, all of the main functionalities, which are planned for the start of the game, have been finished. Currently, we are busy with testing, bug fixing and working on the user interface. There are still some output pages, which need to be finished, but most of the critical stuff has been done. The next step will then be to give test users access to the game so they can put it through its paces. I am really looking forward to this and I am sure that not only we will find bugs during this process but also that we will get very valuable feedback regarding the game play and user experience.

Talking about game play - let me give you some more details how this is going to look like:

Rabona is played in leagues. When you sign up as a new user, you will be automatically assigned to a league with free space. Each league consists of 20 teams. If there are no free leagues available anymore, a new league will be founded.

The highest league level is the League of Champions, in which the best 20 teams fight to be the champions of Rabona.

Below the League of Champions are four level 1 leagues, which means that another 80 teams will play on this level. This system continues with a factor of 4, meaning that on level 2 there will be 320 teams and on level 3 a total of 1280 teams. This will continue further with a higher number of players.

Each team plays each other team in the same league twice per season. One game is at home, which will be a slight advantage, and the other will be an away game. As there are 20 teams per league, each team will thus play 38 matches per season. As of now, it is planned that there will be 2-3 games per day, meaning that one season will take about 2-3 weeks to be completed.

At the end of the season, the winners of each league will be advanced to the next higher league level. Likewise, the weakest 4 teams of each league will be relegated to a league with a level one below the current league.

Besides the advancements and relegation, the end of the season will also trigger various other events - but I will provide you with more information on this at a later stage.

All the best and look forward to giving you more insides soon,
Tim

Congratulations on the advances! I've been looking at building something similar for the SPORTS ecosystem but would love to find ways we could work together if there's any interest.

Its always great to work together in the HIVE ecosystem as people need to understand that the individual projects are not competitors but part of the same effort to bring new users to the ecosystem. I have no concrete idea what we could do, but happy to discuss.

Nice to hear some news about this project... League of Champions I have already the music in my head 😀

Indeed, the music from the real world UEFA Champions League is a real catchy tune - did you know it is based on the song "Zadok the priest", which is part of the coronation anthem for King George II, composed by Georg Friedrich Händel?

Yes, I got that question at a bar quiz. What was the music at the coronation of this king? 4 musical excerpts and we had to find the right one.

A bar quiz - that must have been before the Corona virus ;-)

The good old days 😅

Will it be a hattrick(https://www.hattrick.org) game? I have already reserved my place👍

Yes, this will be a similar concept. I am sure that hattrick will be much more complex initially then Rabona as they have been developing this game for ages. But the blockchain aspect is something that we think will add a lot of spice to the game!

I wish you success in advance. At this stage, I will follow your studies.

thank you
