A Weird Obsession of Race

in #race2 months ago

I read an article by John Leake titled "A Weird Obsession with Race." Definitely, the US seems to have that to some regard. Looking back at the "Black lives Matter" sign that was on every website based in California after the counterfeiter George Floyd was chocked to death (albeit with a procedure that was deemed acceptable by the police department at the time).

It seemed as though those that reacted hardest to the video on the idea that it was racism, were of those who never actually saw the documented video of the event. A racially mixed group of police arrested detained a counterfeiter Gorge Floyd. While a racially mixed group of people begged the police to go easy on him. It was clearly not about race.

The objection here was George Floyd was creating fiat money out of thin air and using it to buy things. Now, banks create fiat money out of thin air. Counterfeit is fraudulent though unlike mining.

Then Mr. Leake goes on about how the mainstream media in the US uses racially loaded language against "whites." Of course this is true, and Elon Musk recognizing that this goes on is what made these Apple Disney and IBM accuse him of racism. What a bunch of bull. I read his Tweet and it was not racist at all. This is how these companies treat America's most popular African American. It is sad.

Leake goes on to allege that the people who owned black slaves thought them as inferior and that is why they could enslave them. That's absolute dribble. If I buy an A.I. slave, I would pick the most superior A.I. I can afford. Black slaves were not brought and bought because of a perceived inferiority. Blacks were considered superior in the 17th century in many important ways.

There were plenty of forced-labor and slavery of non-blacks. The native populations were enslaved, but often instead killed. The blacks were just more popular at the time. You could buy one that was already enslaved. According to this article, people paid between 16 to 44 pounds in 1638-1775.

Now consider the inflation rate of fiat currency, and that is money. Annual salaries late in that period amounted to $60 per year (for a headmaster). The cost of buying a slave was several months of a headmaster's salary. It must have taken years of thrifty living to save for that.

We pay significantly less for a dish washer machine or a motor bike. These are not something one would treat in a careless or bad way. Kary Mullins, the inventor of the PCR test, said it shouldn't be used for diagnosis of a virus. The president of Tanzania talked sent samples from fruits to the labs to see if the tests would come back positive for a virus.
