I am back with a new post in this I will share 6 facts about Indian railways.
Indian railways are one of the largest connected railways in the world which are operated and maintained by the Indian government. It was started by British in 1845 when they were ruling India. Its headquarters is in Capital New Delhi, operated by Ministry of Railways.
Facts about Indian railways:
It is in fourth place of top connected railways in the world with 66.8 k Km, behind the USA, Russia and China with Railway length 250k, 175k and 127k KM respectively.
Indian railways have around 8500+ station across the country and more than 22 million passengers per day.
1.4 million employees are working in Indian railways which are largest employers in India and 8th place in the world.
Indian railways are the worlds first railway department to start train hospital in 1991 which is named has Lifeline Express.
The longest route on Indian railways is Vivek Express that travels from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari at total distance 4273Km. It is also 16th longest route in the world.
Chenab Bridge - the world highest bride is been constructed by Indian railways with a height of 359m. Which schedule to open next year.
