Years back, when I was looking into ways of getting followers on Instagram—I can’t even recall when exactly—I stumbled upon this so‑called ‘hack’. Honestly, I found it pretty dodgy: mass‑following people just to get them to follow back, then ditching them. If only web2, and Hive too, had algorithms that valued real engagement over mere numbers.
Yeah , I remember in the Steemit days everybody following just to get a follow back. I agree 💯 that's a silly and short sighted move! And the centralized stuff like Instagram, it's mostly fake and u can still buy 5000 followers for $20. Bucks. They'll delete bots and some will drop off but still many companies sell bots that follow and the accounts generally stick around for a while. It's all so silly!
Falseness and hypocrisy, 😅... That's what characterises Instagram. Well... I'm not going to generalise, I suppose there are some creators who get real interaction because they offer valuable content, and maybe even give something back to those who took the time to comment.
Thank you @geneeverett.
