Exploring the Ravencoin (RVN) Environment

Ravencoin is a fork of Bitcoin made to facilitate the transfer of assets from peer to peer including the creation and trading of tokens on the Ravencoin blockchain. Ravencoin is open sourced and for the most part community created with a heavy influence from Medici Ventures and Overstock.com.

If there's anything I don't like about Raven, it's that there are 21 Billion tokens - which is a shitload. It's essentially a guarantee that no one will ever get Bitcoin rich from Raven, but that's okay - that's not what it is for. It's actually for making and moving assets and assigning real world objects to tokens for provenance.

I think it' s going to be used for a bunch of other stuff - but it's still young and it's still early. Started in 2018 and going fast - on major exchanges without paying the robbery fees, huge community, there is a lot going on here.

It's easy to create a new asset on Raven - at the moment, it costs about $25US (500 RVN) but as the value goes up, that cost will be higher in fiat.
