When films are quoted about literary novels, we always fall into the dilemma.
Will this work be as good as the novel, or will it have a peer? Throughout the history of the film industry, this percentage has varied in favor of novels at times, and in favor of films at times, and today we have a peculiar situation. Sajan, of the same name. What was that story and how did it become a flag of contemporary science fiction? That's what we're going to talk about today.
The novel
It always attracts my attention to the plots dealing with science fiction, and how science has to be in control and control in a way that represses those with arbitrary opinions, which have no basis but merely personal whims. What is more remarkable about this plot is that it is not entirely about science. Science is the mainstay of events, but not the only aspect of it. The writer has combined the scientific, dramatic, and philosophical aspect in many ways. The combination of this novel and that film created the masterpieces of literature and cinema that deserve to be seen every now and then.
The characteristic is also the combination of the end with the amulet, the writer made an amulet of events (compass) gave her fellow heroine as a gift. That is, a colleague who is fully believed in the existence of God, and that heroine who denies the existence of God is completely denied.
That scene demonstrates the philosophy of tolerance and that we are all human beings, and being different with me in some opinion, that does not prevent that I love you and appreciate being beside me as a human being.
The most distinguished horror writer, Love Craft, saw horror in the unknown, but Carl Sagan saw pleasure as the unknown. It leads to a far end that gradually leads us to add more points in the middle, which is the concept of modern science. Steady monolithic points increase to reach an unspecified end.
Characters
The characters from my point of view are really distinctive. The heroine, Ballmer's boyfriend character. Two characters we can say are that they are the exact opposite, someone who believes in God so strongly, and someone who totally denies his existence. This created minor disputes over the course of events, solidifying the dramatic escalation well. Besides, Eli's own past is brilliantly woven, and the motives inherent in him were sober enough to make them what they are now during the events of the film, and what they will be after they are over. The other characters were woven to serve the plot and the heroine.
The acting
At this point I will marginalize all but two characters, Eli, and Haden. Jodie Foster, the heroine who has been able to embody dozens of different psychiatric states with precision, makes it almost impossible to assert that this is not a representation, especially the scene of her presence inside the spacecraft and looking at the vast universe outside. These, really, abnormal facial expressions, and John Hurt, who performed the billionaire Haden's character with unrivaled skill, his acting experience was a very powerful factor in the output of that character with sobriety, and the intellectual and economic sophistication sufficient to make it one of the most powerful characters in terms of representative performance in my view In the whole film.
Music
I can't say much about this point, but I'll just say it was appropriate for events. It is a great credit for the actors and plot to make this film a success, for his Oscar nomination, and for winning 14 of 26 other awards.
personal opinion
A great movie by all standards and watched more than once opens in your mind new horizons of knowledge and passion that does not fade towards them. What are you waiting for?
