Hlw friends,today i am happy to introduce you with the most tastier and valuable handmade pithas(some types of recipies)of Assamese people.
Different types of pithas are made at the time of Bihu(the main festival of Assam,North East).The main items necessary for its making,gets collected only after harvesting the crop fields.And so ,the Bohag bihu is celebrated on that season and pithas were made ,which is followed from a very early period.
Mainly the Bohag and the Bhogali Bihu involves cooking of certain food items to celebrate the successful harvest and the abundance of crops.Other food items that assume significance during the festival include coconut,jaggery,rice,sesame,milk and other milk products.A few communities may be from upper or lower Assam indulge in brewing fresh rice beer and cooking meat.I believe someday these precious items and its value will be known to each and every corner......
